Leinie celebrates 125 years with a special dark lager.

As the finale to its year-long 125th anniversary celebration, the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. will offer beer drinkers a specially-brewed dark lager beer for a limited time in selected markets.

Leinenkugel's 125th Anniversary Dark Lager will be available beginning November 15, and will run through January 1, 1993.

"We have joined with Leinenkugel's drinkers throughout the country to celebrate our 125th anniversary over the past few months," said Jake Leinenkugel, the brewer's president. "We've had a great deal of fun meeting and talking about Leinie's with thousands of drinkers. We thought it was only appropriate that we do something very special to end the year for Leinie's drinkers.

"That's why we brewed our 125th Anniversary Dark Lager," Leinenkugel continued. "This commemorative beer is a rich, creamy, dark lager that is brewed using dark malt and special hops. We've packaged this beer in a unique, 125th anniversary bottle and 12-pack case. But it's only available for a short time at selected outlets. And, when it's gone, it's gone."

The 12-pack carrier is imprinted with green, red, black and gold anniversary graphics. Also, each carrier will be individually numbered to commemorate the special product, Leinenkugel added.

"We have such a great following for all of our products," Leinenkugel said. "We are just happy all the fans of our Leinenkugel's products can share in the success of our 125 years of brewing quality beers."
