Lehigh University Selects FootPrints to Power Campus-Wide Help Desk Operations; Flexibility, Customization, and Web-Based Design of FootPrints Enables University IT Department to Maximize Existing Resources and Reduce Costs.

EDISON, N.J. -- UniPress(R) Software, Inc., a leading provider of web-based service desk automation software targeting the mid-market, today announced that Lehigh University has selected FootPrints(R) to automate its campus-wide help desk operations. One of the most respected universities in the United States, Lehigh is using FootPrints to accelerate problem resolution and track and manage all types of service and support requests received from numerous departments. Since the deployment, the use of FootPrints has expanded to automate other business processes such as documenting departmental activities and generating reports.

FootPrints offers a 100% web-based platform to centrally manage all types of service and support requests received from multiple channels, including phone, email, instant message, chat, and the web. The fully customizable line of FootPrints products enables organizations to streamline service and support operations and workflow, automate business processes, and control all aspects of the problem resolution life cycle.

Addressing the need to automate its help desk operations which included replacing an existing system, Lehigh University selected FootPrints because it was cost-effective, easy-to-deploy, and web-based. Within a few days, the university installed FootPrints and was able to completely customize it to manage its existing campus-wide help desk processes.

"We selected FootPrints for its competitive pricing, flexibility, and broad range of features, including the software's web-based design," explained Stacey Kimmel, Help Desk Manager at Lehigh University. "While it worked 'out-of-the-box,' we customized the interface with a range of fields and drop-down menus to accommodate our multi-disciplinary organization of librarians, instructional technologists, and computing consultants."

FootPrints is used by a number of administrative units at Lehigh. Ms. Kimmel and her team are using the built-in knowledge base capability of FootPrints to document all types of processes and solutions. Additionally, the university is planning to utilize FootPrints' online self-service functionality to allow end-user ticket submission and deliver other self-help services.

"Lehigh University offers yet another great example of how FootPrints can help universities and educational institutions automate their help desk and support processes," said Mark Krieger, President of UniPress Software. "Like many other customers in this niche, FootPrints' multi-project functionality makes it extremely easy to track and manage a wide spectrum of activities, such as facilities management, operations, departmental help desks, etc. As a result, educational institutions such as Lehigh are able to quantify a fast return on investment."
