LSpecialising in chicken and booze, Yard & Coop will be opening the doors of its two-storey restaurant on Hanover Street, close to Bem Brazil.

The building will be more than 6,245 sq ft, with customers being offered seating in uniquely-themed chicken coops.

Founders and owners of Yard & Coop, Carl Morris and Laura Morris (who are no relation), have always had a fondness for Liverpool and were keen to open a restaurant that offered a relaxed atmosphere and focus on quality products.

Laura said: "We're incredibly excited to join the Liverpool ONE family and have spent lots of time developing a space that we can feel really proud of.

"We know Yard & Coop will offer something new for the city, so we can't wait to open."

Although no exact opening date has been announced, the owners have confirmed it will be early next month.

It will be offering a distinctive menu, centred around the company's famed buttermilk fried chicken, its five-scoop milkshakes and impressive mix of cocktails.

Carl said: "Yard & Coop is all about serving up proper fried chicken with tasty sides, classic cocktails and craft beers.

We taste-than 250 before we upon the formula. Carl Morris, owner "We try to make each experience fun for our customers and pride ourselves on our passion for both the food and service we provide.

"She has family in Kentucky and grew up around real Southern food, so we knew buttermilk chicken would be the perfect choice. We taste-tested more than 250 recipes before we decided upon the perfect formula.

"We now believe we offer the best fried chicken in the North West and can't wait for Liverpool to try it."

The interior will be similar to the restaurant based in Manchester's Northern Quarter Inside, a huge tree by the entrance to the restaurant will help give the illusion of dining within a fox's den in the roots of the tree.

Yard & Coop will be able to accommodate parties and walk-ins, and large groups will be catered for thanks to the restaurant's 200-cover layout and large tables.
