Lee is the standard bearer for training.
Lee Tolley, pictured below, whose family has run the Sunnyside Hotel in Eaglescliffe for almost 30 years, manages the bar at Chadwicks Inn, Maltby.
He has now completed his Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wine and Spirits, awarded by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
The internationally-recognised qualification teaches those working in the industry to understand the key grape varieties grown around the world and how they produce the different styles of wine, the complex production of spirits and liqueurs and the importance of matching foods to the best-suited drinks.
Lee, who has worked at Chadwicks since it opened last August, is now working towards his advanced certificate and has been invited to take part in an educational trip to the wine region of Bordeaux as part of his ongoing training.
Husband and wife team, Gary and Helen Gill, opened Chadwicks Inn, Maltby, following around pounds 200,000 investment.
Lee said: "This qualification is vital for being able to offer the best customer service, which we always strive to do at Chadwicks. The wine list is regularly updated with familiar favourites but also with some more unusual wines from around the globe and we're always happy to offer no-nonsense advice to help people get exactly what they want."
Gary Gill, who has also passed both the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust with distinction, added: "Our wine list has grown very quickly to be one of the most respected in the area and we work hard to source the widest variety to suit all budgets.
"That's why we have recently launched our online wine shop -there is a real demand for good quality wines.
"But it's really important that our staff understand the variety of wines we offer and it's great to see Lee's enthusiasm and growing knowledge in the area."
