Lee Hecht Harrison renews.

Lee Hecht Harrison, Inc., one of the nation's largest career management services firms, has renewed its commitment at 200 Park Avenue, where it has expanded to 31,887 square feet of space for its national headquarters. MetLife Real Estate, the building owner, made the announcement.

Clifford Waldron, vice president, and William Elder of The Shorenstein Company, the building's exclusive leasing and management agent, negotiated the 10-year transaction on behalf of MetLife John Gray, executive vice president, and Peter Van Duyne, vice president of Charles Mackall & Co. acted on behalf of the tenant.

The lease is the second such commitment in two weeks at the building. Lehrer McGovern Bovis, Inc., the nation's second largest construction firm, just leased 67,154 square feet of office space, and established its national headquarters at 200 Park Avenue.

Douglas Elliman announced the formation of a national real estate appraisal and consulting organization.

Joining Douglas Elliman's Appraisal and Consulting Division Chairman, Abram Barkan, MAI, CRE, the "dean" of real estate appraisal and consulting, is a team of former James Felt Consultants and Appraisers. Barkan resigned from James Felt Realty Services in June 1992 and was hired by Douglas Elliman in July 1992.

In addition to an office in New York, the division is developing appraisal and consulting offices in Los Angeles, Boston, the Midwest and the Southwest.

The professionals include Managing Directors Monroe J. Kaufmann, Debra G. Fechter, Sidney Rivkin; Director Stephen J. Petuck and Appraisers, Sharon Y. Locatell and Aryeh Friedman. Lawrence Sicular, RM, who has been developing the residential appraisal capability at Douglas Elliman since 1990, is continuing with the expanded group as managing director and experienced residential appraisers Alan Jaffe and Alice Palmisano who have also been with Douglas Elliman have joined the expanded group.

In addition, Ray L. Treiger, real estate consultant and former R. H. Macy Senior Vice President for Planning and Property Development has joined the group as a director.

Consulting and appraisal assignments handled by the members of the new expanded group include those for RH Macy, International Paper, Citibank, Barney's, Prudential, Shearson Lehman Brothers, Chemical Bank, UBS Asset Management, the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, The Henley Group, Capital Cities/ABC, New York Hospital, New York State Urban Development Corp. Battery Park City Authority, Polygram Records, New York Life and a wide group of others.
