Lebanon greets Kuwait on nat''l days, lauds Kuwait''s support for Arab causes.

| By Omar Al-Halabi, Mubarak Al-Hajri (with photos) BEIRUT, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour hailed Friday the State of Kuwait's supportive stances toward the just Arab causes, particularly those relative to Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

"Lebanon and its people will never forget the generosity of Kuwait and its support to Lebanon during the brutal Israeli war in 2006," Masnour said in an interview with KUNA on the occasion of Kuwait's celebrations of national days.

Kuwait these days cerebrates the advent of the 51st anniversary of independence, the 21st anniversary of liberation and the Sixth anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah assuming power.

Mansour conveyed to the Lebanese leadership and people greetings to the Kuwaiti leadership and people, wishing Kuwait stability, progress and prosperity.

"What the State of Kuwait offered to Lebanon reflects the depth of relations between the two countries and Kuwait's solidarity with Lebanon during crises and hardships" he said.

He underlined that Kuwait always fights for the just Arab causes and does not intervene in domestic affairs of any country.

For his part, Minister of Tourism Fadi Abboud expressed happiness to share the celebrations with Kuwaiti people.

"We are pleased to share these great celebrations with the Kuwaiti people," Abboud said, sending greetings to the Kuwaiti people and leadership on these occasions.

He noted that Kuwait is a key supporter of the Lebanese national economy through Kuwaiti investments and tourists.

He hailed the relationship between the two peoples as historical.

Mufti of Lebanon Muhammad Rashid Qabbani also praised the bonds of love and cooperation between the Lebanese and Kuwaiti people.

On the occasion of Kuwait national days, Qabbani sent greetings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.

He stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in all fields, wishing HH the Amir, Kuwaiti government and people progress and prosperity on every level. (end) Oh.mah.ibi KUNA 241720 Feb 12NNNN
