BEIRUT: Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil will meet Wednesday with his Greek and Cypriot counterparts in the first tripartite meeting to take place among the three countries to discuss "political, economic and touristic cooperation," a statement from the Lebanese Foreign Ministry has announced.

The meeting comes on the heels of the arrival in Beirut of Greek Foreign Minister Georgios Katrougalos and Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, whose official visit to Lebanon is focusing on activating economic and political coordination between Greece and Lebanon.

Katrougalos and Kountoura were greeted at Rafik Hariri International Airport by a representative from the Lebanese Foreign Ministry and Greek Ambassador to Lebanon Franciscos Verros, the state-run National News Agency reported.

On April 11, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and his wife, Vlassia Pavlopoulou-Peltsemi, will arrive in Lebanon for a two-day visit.
