Leases signed at University Plaza

Leasing activity at University Plaza in Hackensack, New Jersey, has been brisk over the last few months resulting in four major transactions totaling nearly 50,000 square feet of office space.

Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey, is the exclusive leasing agent for University Plaza.

Globe Mortgage signed the largest lease of the four at Two University Plaza. The firm signed a 12-year lease for 26,000 square feet of space, according to Richard S. Baumstein, senior vice president, Thomas A. Reilly, assistant vice president, and John Meisel, the Cushman & Wakefield brokers who represented both the landlord and tenant in the transaction. Globe Mortgage is relocating its operations from downtown Hackensack.

In the second transaction, New York Switch Company nearly doubled their existing space at University Plaza III. The company added an additional 9,000 square feet of space to the 10,000 square feet it already possessed, according to Baumstein, Reilly and Meisel, the Cushman & Wakefield brokers who represented the landlord in the transaction.

Additionally, Steven Appollo, Esq., a law firm, signed a short term lease for over 1,800 square feet of office space at University Plaza I while Purup Co., a computer software company, leased nearly 1,300 square feet of space at University Plaza III, according to Baumstein, Reilly and Meisel.

University Plaza is a three-building, 475,000-square-foot office park on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, New Jersey. Fairleigh Dickinson University is the owner of the development, which is being leased by Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey, Inc. The property consists of three, six-story buildings including University Plaza I with 121,000 square feet, University Plaza II consisting of 143,000 square feet, and University Plaza III, the largest building at 210,000 square feet.
