ARABIAN detectives are visiting police on Tyneside to brush-up on their investigation skills.

Two crime scene investigators from Abu Dhabi will spend time with Northumbria Police to learn more about investigative techniques worldwide.

The officers have just completed a National Policing Improvement Agency training course at Harperley Hall, Durham and are now on a two-week secondment with Northumbria Police.

They have been working with scenes of crime officers from Newcastle and Gateshead Area Commands.

Chief Insp Fred Elrick, head of Northumbria Police's scientific support section, said: "It''s useful to meet with officers from other countries to share experiences and exchange information."
