League's Hero-ic efforts!

THE Pin Point Recruitment Junior Football League have raised almost pounds 2,000 for their chosen charity for 2010-2011 Help For Heroes.

The league organised its first summer charity cup competition this year and it proved a great success.

Seven under-17s teams from across Northumberland and Durham competed over three days, with preliminary rounds being played at Redhouse Farm and the final at Cowgate.

A sum of pounds 550 was donated to Help for Heroes.

In addition, the league's sponsor Pin Point Recruitment organised a charity evening at the Cowgate and Blakelaw British Legion Club, where a further pounds 1,450 was collected.
