Leading Surgeons Present ORTHOsoft's New Knee and Hip Computerized Surgery System at AAOS, South Hall A Booth #4243.

MONTREAL -- ORTHOsoft Inc. (TSX VENTURE:OSH), a computer-assisted surgery company that develops and markets software, instruments and computer systems that increase the accuracy of knee and hip surgery, announces that two leading orthopedic surgeons will present ORTHOsoft's new software and instruments used in innovative total knee and hip replacement procedures at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) conference in Chicago (March 22-26, 2006).

The presentations which take place at the ORTHOsoft booth (South Hall A booth #4243) at AAOS will be given by acclaimed surgeons, Dr. Aaron Hoffmann, from University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City (1:00 pm, March 22), and Dr. Lawrence Dorr, from Centinella Hospital in Los Angeles (1:00 pm, March 23).

The milestone event for ORTHOsoft is that the simple and economic software can be used by surgeons who use implants from several different manufacturers. Many surgeons believe that the software is particularly well adapted to those who perform minimally invasive surgical techniques leading to faster recovery of the patients than conventional total knee and hip replacement techniques.

"ORTHOsoft's computer assisted surgery system not only ensures absolute position accuracy and enables minimally invasive surgery (MIS), it allows us to be better surgeons, and have better patient results," said Dr. Dorr. He added that, "This advanced system and total hip replacement technique using a 3 inch incision allows patients freer movement immediately after surgery and enables them to return home within one day using only a cane."

Orthopaedic Surgery Market

In North America and Europe, surgeons perform close to two million orthopaedic knee and hip implant surgeries annually. Many leading orthopaedic surgeons predict that computer assisted surgery will become a standard of care in implant surgery. The Company estimates its new universal knee and hip solutions will cover 80% of the implants in use in the United States and European market.

To date, ORTHOsoft's computer assisted surgery systems have guided surgeons in more than 25,000 hip and knee surgeries in Europe and North America, and ORTHOsoft is well positioned to become a leader in the orthopaedic surgery market.
