Leading Supply Chain Practitioners Use i2 Agile Business Process Platform as Foundation for Next-Generation Supply Chain Planning; Companies Realize Increased Productivity, Enhanced Customer Service and Improved Cost of Ownership.

LAS VEGAS -- Enterprises are constantly challenged with increasing customer demands for rapid response while at the same time dealing with supply variability when delivering timely resolutions for supply disruption. Many of these enterprises encounter significant latency of information within their current systems and possess an architecture which precludes them from achieving the right level of responsiveness. The Agile Business Process Platform from i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO) helps companies tackle these challenges and enables the next generation of supply chain planning.

"The i2 Agile Business Process Platform is designed to provide the foundation for the next-generation of planning because it allows business users to perform fast plan-do-check-act and rapidly realign their supply chains to meet changing customer demand and counter supply variability," said i2 Chief Executive Officer Michael McGrath. "For IT users, in addition to reducing the total cost of ownership, the platform provides the ability to quickly establish, deploy, customize and maintain decision-making systems and processes at the rate of business innovation and process changes."

The i2 Agile Business Process Platform can be a key enabler for corporate planners because it is designed to perform core platform services to compose, model and execute business process workflows or business logic. It offers roles-based user interface (UI) customization, Microsoft Excel compatibility for read-and-write privileges to planning engines, and business process configuration capabilities. The platform provides extensive supply chain management data models and related data processes and offers structured supply chain data modeling workflows, planning parameter maintenance and supply chain data management including validation, cleansing, synchronization, staging and aggregation. Additionally, the platform's integration services offer bulk data transport and mapping to Web services support with combined support for messaging and generic EAI use.

Corporate planners can use the i2 Agile Business Process Platform with their existing planning solutions, whether they are legacy, ERP or i2 solutions, to:

--Improve responsiveness to counter supply chain variability and business uncertainty

--Enable system changes at the rate of business innovation and business process changes

--Enable business users to focus on decision making as compared to data gathering, validation and plan aggregation

--Focus on core supply chain competencies and reduce total cost of ownership associated with business process design and enablement

Customers Worldwide Realize Value in Planning with i2 Agile Business Process Platform

A leading provider of semiconductor and system solutions for automotive, industrial and multi-market sectors, determined that its planners were spending significant time accessing multiple systems for identifying and eliminating customer order exceptions, leading to less than desirable customer service levels. To meet the challenge, the company used the i2 Agile Business Process Platform to build a workflow across its SAP and i2 Demand Fulfillment installations for managing exceptions with orders, ATP (Available To Promise), and AATP (Allocated Available To Promise) in the order fulfillment process. The workflow extracted information from both SAP and i2 solutions in parallel, and combined and presented the data into a single online report for more streamlined planning and decision making. As a result, the company realized increased customer service levels, improved visibility and responsiveness to exceptions, and increased planner productivity.

A top supplier of power solutions to engineers, purchasing professionals, distributors and contract manufacturers was looking to perform impact analysis on demand changes and compare multiple scenarios to determine the right level and timing of capacity expansion. The company turned to i2, which has used the i2 Agile Business Process Platform to develop multiple structured scenario management workflows to supplement its core planning process. Phase One of the project is on track to be delivered at the end of May 2006.

One of the world's leading automotive suppliers was seeking a simple user interface (UI) for plan analysts, as well as added capacity for plan adjustments. The company used the i2 Agile Business Process Platform in conjunction with desktop Excel to connect directly into the company's supply chain planning engine. This allowed the company to analyze data using standard Microsoft Excel capabilities, such as pivots, graphs, and functions with supply chain planner-like filters and drill downs. This enabled planners to modify data and write back into the engine with mass edits and updates. The company reports that the easier plan analysis has increased planner productivity through increased responsiveness and decision-making.

A longtime i2 customer, which is one of the world's largest apparel companies, turned to i2 for help replacing its heavily used legacy "green screen" user interface for planners. It worked with i2 to replace the screens with browser-based reports and workflows using the i2 Agile Business Process Platform. As a result, planner productivity improved due to increased responsiveness and decision-making.
