Leadership congratulated on Bahrain judicial independence ranking.

Manama, Oct. 6 (BNA): President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Court of Cassation Chancellor Salim bin Mohammed Al Kuwari extended congratulations to Bahrain leadership on Bahrain's distinguished international judicial standing. He praised the unflinching royal support to autonomy, probity and impartiality of the judicial branch which enabled Bahrain to jump nine ranks in judicial independence in one year according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 released by the World Economic Forum.

Chancellor Al Kuwari emphasised keenness of the Supreme Judicial Council on upgrading the judicial system in Bahrain so as to boost comprehensive economic development and serve the strategic goal of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. He also underlined the efforts made to ensure judicial security that is capable of luring more investments and increasing Bahrain's credit rating.

The Supreme Judicial Council revealed that judicial independence has been able to earn Bahrain 32nd place in 2016 up from 41st place in 2015, thus achieving a remarkable progress in terms of criteria adopted by the Global Competitiveness Report. The council also pointed out that effectiveness of the judicial system in settling disputes has been able to bring Bahrain up from 33rd place to 25th place while efficacy of the administrative judicial system has improved Bahrain's ranking from 28th to 21st place.

Chancellor Al Kuwari asserted that the achievement is the result of the unrelenting efforts of the Supreme Judicial Council to develop the judicial system in Bahrain and promote the culture of global competitiveness in order to foster justice as well as rights and freedoms by bolstering judicial independence.
