Leaders lose as Dolgellau take advantage; DIVISION ONE NORTH.

Dolgellau 9 Nant Conwy 8 NANT Conwy remain top of the table despite suffering their second defeat of the season, as they went down to a loss at Dolgellau in horrendous conditions.

Dolgellau took the lead after 11 minutes when Tom Roberts converted the first of his three successful penalties.

Aeron Jones responded in a similar manner to level the scores four minutes later. Further forward play ensued around the middle of the park for the next 20 minutes or so before Dolgellau scored another penalty.

The Nant pack pressed forwards for the rest of the half and had their reward two minutes into added time at the first half when Carwyn Ellis managed to touch down past the line for a try when the conversion attempt from the left wing failed narrowly.

Dolgellau began the second half strongly but the Nant defence managed to keep the home team from scoring until Roberts was successful with another penalty.

As it turned out, this was the last score of the match.

The dour forward play continued for the rest of the match but, five minutes before the end, prop Elgan Davies asked for a try when he thought he had grounded the ball but the decision was an attacking five meter scrum, and with it Dolgellau held on to win.
