Lawn Tennis: MACCA - LET TIM LOOSE!
ADMIRABLE as Tim Henman's tirade against British tennis's comfort zone losers was, let's see him back words up with action.
At 33-years-old, his best days are long gone. He's got enough money in the bank to live comfortably for the rest of his life, so why not immediately start giving something back.
Get Henman off the circuit and into the classroom. Put him in front of the potential British hopefuls and have him lecture them on the harsh reality of fighting your way to the top of the tennis ladder.
Open their eyes, show them the desire that's needed and the sacrifices that HAVE to be made.
Surely he can do a better job than that oaf, Peter Lundgren, who apparently can't be trusted to sit the right way on a toilet seat let alone give an LTA presentation without slurring his words.
And if Henman's influence leads to another Brit breaking into the world's top 10 alongside Andy Murray, then we can forgive him his shortcomings on a tennis court and herald him as the salvation of a sport currently dying on its backside here.
