Lawn Tennis: Dad's plenty of puff; THE GRIPPER DIARY THE CHAMPIONSHIPS WIMBLEDON 2007: BIG TWO SET FOR MOUTHWATERING FINALE.

RICHARD WILLIAMS is a familiar sight walking around Wimbledon after supervising his daughters' practice sessions - and most of the time he seems to be smoking.

Yet the new smoking ban in England will not bother him because he says he's far too busy to even think of going to a local bar or restaurant.

"I don't go out," said Williams (pictured), whose dream of seeing Venus and Serena contest another Wimbledon final is still alive. "I'm what you call a workaholic." If you're wondering what's in Serena's little pink book that she opens up at change of ends and hides under a towel, it's her crib sheet.

It worked for Arsenal's German keeper Jens Lehmann at last year's World Cup when the sheet of paper he kept in his sock reminded him which way the Argentine players would send their penalties, and Williams the younger is trying the same trick.

She said: "It's just notes. Instead of sheets of paper, it's easier to have a book."
