Lawmaker proposes to switch to Latin script AKIPRESS.COM - The transition to the Latin script will be a great contribution to the development of Kyrgyz language, said MP Altynbek Sulaimanov at the parliament meeting, which is considering nomination of Osh State University Rector Kanybek Isakov for Minister of Education and Science.

MP Sulaimanov reminded that Kasym Tynystanov and other statesmen founded the Kyrgyz alphabet based on the Latin script. "It is necessary to resume their work.

This is very good contribution to the development of the Kyrgyz language, as well as a good step in learning English," said Sulaimanov. Kanybek Isakov replied that the issue would be considered.
