Canada-based Laurentian Bank (LB.TO) is to inaugurate 44 new automatic banking machines in Montreal.
The bank had obtained exclusive rights to operate the machines throughout the Societe de transport de Montreal (STM) subways last June.
Luc Bernard, executive vice-president, Personal and SME Financial Services at the bank, said, 'As a result of the Bank's financial solidity since its repositioning a number of years ago, the institution has the wind in its sails and is continuing to grow despite the difficult economic context confronting the banking sector. Winning this call for tenders demonstrates the confidence the Bank has earned, of which we are extremely proud. For us, the installation of these ABMs in the Metro constitutes an important step in our development and clearly supports the value of our commitment to being close to our clients. Indeed, Laurentian Bank is firmly rooted in Quebec, particularly in Montreal - the city in which it was born and to which it owes a major part of its sustained growth and success.'
