Launch of car design competition.

THE Autocar Young Car designer of the Year 2002 competition is under way. Geraint Powell of Builth Wells, Powys, was a runner-up in the competition last year.

This year it's open to anyone aged 16 or under and is sponsored by Autocar Magazine, Lego and Land Rover. Prizes include a week in the Land Rover design studio, a pounds 2,000 Land Rover mountain bike and two sets of Lego Technic. All entrants received a free set of Lego Technic off-road wheels with which to build their model. See the magazine for details.

To receive your free set of Lego Racers wheels, chassis and engine, you need to be aged 16 or under by the April 1 closing date.

Simply fill in the online form at the magazine website or complete the coupon in Autocar Magazine.

You will then have four months to build your model before sending photographs of it to the judges.
