Lattice Energy Services Create Lower Fuel Costs.

Poultry processing company, Dean Foods, recently called on Lattice Energy Services to manage the conversion of one of their sites from propane to natural gas.

Formerly known as BG Energy Services, Lattice won the job of switching the poultry processing factory in Lincoinshire, which has two boilers using around 200,000 therms of propane a year. The high price of propane now over 50p/therm - means that the overall economics of the conversion were attractive for Dean Foods, with a project payback expected after just twelve months. As usual for a gas conversion project there are environmental benefits too, with no more propane tankers needed in this part of Lincolnshire.

Lattice Energy Services have also secured the task of converting Dean Foods' two other sites in Nottinghamshire. One site handles egg products with two boilers using gas oil and propane totalling 211,000 therms, whilst the other is a chicken feed mill with one boiler operating on gas oil totalling 210,000 therms. The conversion is due for completion in Spring 2001.
