Latin Trade honors Colombia's President Uribe as Trade Leader of the Year more than 300 people attend black-tie ceremony for the 10th Annual Latin Trade Bravo Business Awards.
LATIN TRADE, the No. 1 pan-regional business magazine in the Americas, hailed Development, Industry and Trade Minister Luiz Fernando Furlan as the Most Innovative Policymaker, while Justice and Interior Minister Sabas Pretelt de la Vega accepted the Trade Leader of the Year award on behalf of Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Velez.
The black-tie ceremony also paid tribute to International CEO of the Year Steven Shindler of NII Holdings, Technology Leader of the Year Blanca Trevino de Vega of Softtek, Environmentalist of the Year Diana Pombo Holguin of Colombia and Humanitarian of the Year Juan Carlos Blumberg of Argentina. Financier of the Year Roberto Setubal of Banco Itau was represented by Banco Itau Senior Managing Director Paulo Soares, CEO of the Year Roger Agnelli of Companhia Vale do Rio Doce was represented by CVRD Executive Director Carla Grasso and CEO of the Decade Carlos Slim of Mexico was represented by Grupo Carso Board Member Roberto Slim.
The LATIN TRADE Bravo Business Awards honored leaders for their contributions to progress and development in Latin America. Hosted by LATIN TRADE Publisher Mike Zellner, the event was attended by diplomats and business leaders from across the region. Bravo sponsors were InterContinental Hotels, Audi, Premier Partners, Hamburg Sud, Alianca, Oracle, UPS, and Hitachi Data Systems.
