Late-night delays for M-way works.

MOTORISTS are being warned of possible motorway delays due to noise reduction work near Warrington starting on Friday.

The combined pounds 140,000 project will replace the existing surfacing on the slip roads at Junction 21A of the M6, which links traffic to Junction 10 of the M62.

The new high-tech surfacing can reduce vehicle noise by up to 50%.

All the work will be carried out overnight between 10pm and 5am. There will be several closures on both motorways.

The first phase will be carried out between Friday February 1 and Sunday February 24 and will affect the following routes:

M62 Junction 10 eastbound and westbound slip to M6 southbound

M62 main carriageway northbound for 1.24km before the Junction 10 exit.

The second phase of work will take place between February 22 and March 30 and will see overnight closures on the following routes:

M6 southbound Junction 21Ato M62 eastbound

M6 southbound Junction 21A to M62 westbound

M6 main carriageway southbound for 2.02km before the 21A turn-off.

Diversions for all these closures will be clearly signposted.
