Late try robs the brave Rishies.

RISHWORTHIANS were robbed of victory deep into added time after a gritty performance which deserved better. They went down just 7-3 in terrible conditions at Wath Upon Dearne.

Within five minutes, playing down the slope, Rishies were ahead thanks to a Josh Kelly penalty.

They could not break through further and their best chance came after a charge down by lock Richard Bullough, but he and scrum half Ed Cockroft were beaten to the ball as they raced for the line.

The home side then threw everything at the visitors but their defence was brilliant.

In the last 15 minutes Rishies were pinned back by a heavy penalty count and the big Wath pack rumbled over the line despite a superb Rishies effort. The kick brought the end of the game.
