Last call for boxes.

If we needed any proof about the impact mobile phones have had on our lives, we received it today. The news that BT is to close more than 1,000 phone boxes across Wales clearly comes as a sign of the times.

No company can see revenue fall as dramatically as the huge decrease in coins being shoved into UK phone booths without acting. It was clearly only a matter of time before this kiosk cull happened.

But it must be remembered that not everybody has a mobile phone. And when it comes to deciding which phone boxes stay and go, it is to be hoped sensible decisions are taken.
