Larkin moves up a gear.

A MIDDLESBROUGH cyclist has secured a move up the racing circuit after tasting success in his latest race.

Marton-based Manilla Cycling member Jason Larkin earned his Category Three licence with a podium place in the latest Category Four CDNE Evening Series race at Middlebsrough Cycle Circuit.

Backed up by Ben Reynolds, Ellis Hutchinson and Jon Moran throughout the race, Jason competed in the final sprint to secure his first ever podium place when he finished third.

In the Category Three race of the same event, a four-man team of Adam Brooks, Adam McManus, Greg Booth and Ryan Pugh rode a superb tactical race to reel in all the early breaks before coming home in fourth, fifth and sixth.

Ryan was the highest finisher, followed by Adam Brooks and Greg Booth.
