Lansbury lifts first Olivier at the age of 89.

The 89-year-old was named best supporting actress for her role in Blithe Spirit - the first time she has been on the stage in london for 40 years.

gemma Arterton, 29, won the award for most daring dress but she lost out to Katie Brayben in the race to be best actress in a musical.

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, 36, also turned heads with her stylish outfit.

Dame Judi Dench, 80, was photographed on the red carpet with Kevin Spacey and went on to present the 55-year-old US star with a special award for his work as artistic director at The Old Vic theatre.
