Landlord arrested for unleashing dog on child.

CHINIOT -- Bhowana police on Sunday arrested a feudal who had allegedly unleashed his dog on the child of his opponent over a petty clash at Chak 193-JB, Adilwala Bangla, tehsil Bhowana.

According to the first information report, Hasnain, son of a peasant, Haq Nawaz, was going back from school when Jafar, the landlord of the village, unleashed his dog at the child. Hearing hue and cry of the child, the locals came to his help and shifted him the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhowana in critical condition.

Umar Hayat, uncle of the child, said Jafar and Haq Nawaz had clashed some days back. He alleged that Jafar had taken the step against Nawaz's son out of enmity.

Bhowana police registered the FIR and arrested Jafar after news was flashed in the media.

GAMBLERS: City police arrested 12 gamblers and seized the stake money from Mohallah Puran Palad.

The police raided a house near the Ali Hospital where 13 gamblers were busy in gambling. The police arrested them and seized Rs101,350 stake money from there. The arrested gamblers were identified as Saleem, Usman, Ibqal, Shakeel, Jameel, Jahangir, Tayyab, Imran, Arfat, Zulfiqar, Ashraf, and Shafiq.

The police registered a case against the suspects.
