Sharjah's permanent committee for allocating plots of lands for housing, commercial and industrial purposes held a meeting on Sunday with the Muncipal Councils in Khor Fakkan and Kalba to assess the size of applications for housing plots in the emirate.

The meeting discussed the byelaw that stipulates conditions to be fulfilled by UAE citizens for receiving plots of lands from the government.

The committee decided to hand over to the municipal councils the data containing information on vacant plots of lands in various regions along with their location maps.

Those who did receive plots of land from the government but did not use them for more than five years will be asked to return their lands according to bylaws, the committee asserted. These plots will be redistributed among deserving applicants.
