Byline: The Register-GuardChurchill's Jerad Thompson hit a grand slam and Alex Bennett had a three-run homer as the visiting Lancers defeated Springfield 11-0 in a Midwestern League basball game Monday afternoon.
Corey Kent also went 3-for-5 with a two-run triple, and Andrew Schumacher allowed two hits and struck out four over six innings for Churchill.
Spencer Lind and Nick Bastinelli each singled for the Millers' only two hits.
North Eugene 12, Lebanon 0
LEBANON - Jacob Franke hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to help end the game early for the Highlanders.
Franke finished 3-for-3 with five RBIs, and Dan Winterstein added a three-run double. Jon Keller allowed one hit, two walks and struck out five in five innings for North.
Willamette 5, Sheldon 3
Matt Potter and T.J. Woodke had RBI doubles in a four-run second inning for the Wolverines, who held the Irish scoreless after they opened with three runs in the first inning.
Backed by three double plays, Willamette reliever Jody Potter held the Irish to only two hits in the final six innings.
Micah McJunkin had a pair of hits for Sheldon, and Alex Besaw had two RBIs.

Monroe 11, Harrisburg 1
MONROE - Kevin Ballard had three hits and two RBIs, and Nick Payne had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Dragons.
Monroe starter Jon Zysett struck out 10 and allowed no runs and three hits in five innings.
Tyler Bowers had a pair of hits for the Eagles.
Waldport 21, McKenzie 5
BLUE RIVER - Anthony Catalfamo hit a three-run home run and had four RBIs to lead the Irish, while Brandt Thissell also had three hits and four RBIs. Eli Joy and Nick Pearman had two hits each for the Eagles.
