Lamta to host national competition onTunisian "Bsisa".
(TAP) - As part of the 18th Local Product Festival, the Association for the protection of Lamta is organising a national competition of best Bsisa from May 10 to 14, 2017 in Lamta.
Organised in partnership with between the Zouhair Kallel Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology (French: INNTA) and research laboratory "Maghreb Studies and Cultural Meditation", this competition is opened for all artisans, students and associations representing the 24 governorates of the country. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday May 14. The jury, which will be composed of national experts in nutrition and food technology, will award prizes to the three first winners: the first prize (5,000 dinars), the second prize (2,000 dinars) and the third prize (1000 dinars).
Salha said this competiton aims essentially to bring Tunisian regions closer, to highlight the Tunisian Bsisa and to inscribe it on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage.
The 18th edition of the local products festival, held this year under the theme [beaucoup moins que]Wheat Bsisa", aims to promote the different virtues of "bsisa", in order to make it a leitmotif promoting Lamta city, and especially to attract Industrials and investors whom are wishing to make out of this product a true element of culinary heritage.
Bsisa is a traditional Tunisian meal made from wheat flour or barley.
