Lakes Primary School.

School/nursery name: Lakes Primary School (Nursery).

Address: West Dyke Road, Redcar, Cleveland, TS10 4JH. Number of pupils in nursery class: 50 children What projects are you currently/recently doing with the pupils? Lakes Nursery provides a happy and stimulating learning environment for the children to ensure that each of them has a fun and exciting experience. Children deserve a secure, safe and happy childhood and here at Lakes Nursery we ensure that each child is supported to reach their potential. Our current topic is Traditional Tales. We will be covering all the classics such as The Little Red Hen, The Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks. Lakes Nursery is currently improving their outdoor provision and is building up a bank of resources to inspire and challenge children in the natural environment. Our children love exploring the outdoors in all weathers and we particularly like jumping in puddles! Our children learn the importance of helping others by raising money for many charities. In the forthcoming weeks, we are holding a cake sale to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer -a charity which is close to the heart of our staff members. We have also had fancy dress parties and coffee mornings to raise money for more local charities such as SARA and the Redcar Coastguard team. We are a 65-place nursery (39 places AM, 26 places PM) which provides three hours free nursery education per day, either on a morning (08.45-11.45) or an afternoon (12.15-3.00). Lakes Nursery currently has places for children who have turned three -please ring 01642 485894, (option three) and speak to Mrs Caroline Chadwick (deputy head/EYFS leader).
