Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides state-of-the-art security system to Moon Market.

LAHORE, September 30, 2010 (Frontier Star): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while fulfilling its social corporate responsibility, has provided state-of-the-art security system including night vision security cameras and surveillance systems with complete backup arrangements to the Moon Market, the place that has frequently been targeted by terrorists. According to handout issued here on Thursday, the security system was jointly switched-on by the City Police Chief tMohammad Aslam Tarin, LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik, outgoing LCCI President Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry and former LCCI Executive Committee member Sardar Usman Ghani. Moon Market Traders Association office-bearers and a large number of area businessmen were also present in the inauguration ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the City Police Chief Mohammad Aslam Tarin paid rich tributes to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for supplementing police efforts aimed at ensuring foolproof security at all the city markets. He said that the Police was putting in its best efforts to weed out the menace of terrorism but to make the society crime free every person of the society would have to play its role. In his address, the LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry was ready to take every possible step for the well being of business community and installation of a state-of-the-art security system at one of the biggest and busiest shopping malls of Lahore was a big achievement. He said that the police should establish businessmen-police liaison committees in all the major city markets by incorporating genuine businessmen in these committees. The outgoing LCCI President Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry said that terrorism could only be defeated by collective efforts as no single entity can cope with the situation fully. The In Charge of Moon Market Security system project Sardar Usman Ghani assured the business community of Moon Market of LCCIs full support in days to come as well. He said that security has become the most important issue and calls for emergent measures to tackle it head-on. He said that the LCCI was taking steps to strengthen its liaison with the police department to curb the activities of anti-social elements. LCCI former Executive Committee members Rehmatullah Javaid and Anwaar A Sheikh also attended the ceremony.
