Ladder fall OAP dies.

A PENSIONER has died after falling from a ladder at his home.

Retired coach builder Michael Horan, also known as Joseph, was up the ladder cutting a branch off a tree in the garden of his home in Bleak Street, Smethwick, when the accident happened last Thursday.

Mr Horan, aged 72, was taken by ambulance to the City Hospital, Birmingham, and transferred to Heartlands Hospital but died of heart and lung failure after suffering multiple rib fractures.

An inquest was opened at Dudley by Black Country Coroner, Robin Balmain, and adjourned pending further inquiries.
