Lack of trust.

WHAT a difference a day makes - how these words ring true.

We had Alex Salmond waffling on about how the elderly were safe in SNP hands, then we had the scandal over his mishandling of Scotland's position with respect to our European standing and being accused of lying.

The final nail in the coffin must be high-profile party member Adil Bhatti's decision to resign following their position over NATO.

Now Salmond is proposing a head-to-head debate with David Cameron on the independence issue on St Andrew's day.

Why will he not accept the fact that the Scottish people no longer trust him or his party and that he should respectfully resign from office before any further embarrassment? Hamish Leishman, Kilsyth, near Glasgow
