Roumyana Mihailova has been appointed the new head of the General Labour Inspectorate (GLI) by Social and Labour Policy Minister Totyu Mladenov. She replaces Gulub Donev who was dismissed by Mladenov over the inspectorate's poor internal control. Mihailova has been part of the inspectorate system for more than a decade. She was head of its regional unit in Sliven until 1997 when she joined the main headquarters in Sofia. In 2007, she was appointed chief secretary. She also has experience working for various companies in Sliven. Mihailova is a graduate of Varna Technical University and Sofia University Kliment Ohridksi where she specialised in labour law. She is about to finish a master's degree in public administration at Sofia University.
