LaBarge Awarded Contracts Valued At $2 Million From BAE Systems for Common Missile Warning System.

ST. LOUIS -- LaBarge, Inc. (AMEX: LB) has received contracts valued at $2 million from BAE Systems of Nashua, N.H., to produce ruggedized circuit card assemblies for the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS). The CMWS defends military helicopters, and transport and tactical aircraft from heat-seeking missiles by detecting and warning crews of missile threats, and cueing countermeasures.

The electronic assemblies built by LaBarge function in the CMWS's electro-optic missile sensors and the electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU processes data from the sensors to determine if a missile threat exists, and then communicates with other defensive equipment such as the Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures system to defeat the missile. The CMWS is deployed on a variety of military aircraft for U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force, as well as certain coalition aircraft deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Production on this contract has begun at LaBarge's Tulsa facility and is expected to continue through September 2007.
