La Salles Camille Cruz suffers multiple injuries in right knee.

MANILA -- De La Salle Universitys Camille Cruz has suffered multiple injuries in her right knee after falling awkwardly in their Game One Finals matchup against defending champions Ateneo on Wednesday afternoon at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

According to Pahayagang Plaridel, La Salles Tagalog-based student organ, Cruz tore her lateral collateral ligament, anterior cruciate ligament and a bone bruise on her right knee.

Cruz fell awkwardly at the 22-18 scoreline of the third set.

Ateneo won the match in straight sets.

La Salle entered the Finals without their "talisman" Ara Galang who tore her ACL and Medial Collateral Ligament in her left knee on Saturday during the UAAP Womens Volleyball Tournament semis against National University.

Ateneo team captain Alyssa Valdez expressed her sadness on the untoward accidents that the La Sallians suffered but she believed that both Galang and Cruz can recover from it.
