La Croix Sparkling Water growth continues

Officials of the La Croix Water Co. announced that its La Croix Sparkling Water has experienced unprecedented growth since the worldwide recall of Perrier Water in February.

According to Ian Crichton, executive vice president, marketing and sales, the brand's national advertising, increased production, and establishment of consumer hotline escalated La Croix sales in February by 300 percent.

Crichton explained that the brand's new packaging, the addition of a new berry flavor, and promotional programs with LA Gear and Venus Swimwear, all launched during Perrier's absence, have made La Croix the third largest domestic sparkling water brand in the U.S., increasing market share from 10.3 percent to 12.4 percent.

Between February and June, La Croix improved its market share by 48 percent in the Midwest, 84 percent in the Chicago area, and 37 percent in Atlanta. Other areas on the increase included an 84-percent jump in Kansas City, a 182-percent increase in Columbus, OH, and a 100-percent rise in Washington, D.C.
