LYNCH RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF INVESTMENT COMPANY INSTITUTE

 WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ronald P. Lynch, managing partner of the New York-based investment management firm Lord, Abbett & Co., has been re-elected to a one-year term as chairman of the Investment Company Institute (ICI). Nineteen other leaders of the investment company industry have been elected or appointed to the board of governors of the institute, which is the national association of the investment company industry. Fifteen governors were elected, and four were appointed to serve unexpired terms. Of the newly elected governors, six were elected for first time, and nine served previously on the 46-member governing body of the institute.
 Elected for the first time were: James B. Hawkes, executive vice president, Eaton Vance Management (Boston); Stephen H. Hopkins, vice president and CFO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management (New York); Kenneth Leibler, president, Liberty Financial Companies (Boston); Douglas G. Ober, chief executive officer, Adams Express Co. (Baltimore; Thomas D. Seip, executive vice president, Schwab Funds (San Francisco; and Jack R. Thompson, executive vice president, Janus Funds (Denver).
 Re-elected as governors were: Rupert H. Johnson Jr., senior vice president, Franklin Resources, Inc. (San Mateo, Calif.); F. Ray Keyser Jr., partner, Keyser, Crowley, Meub et al. (Rutland, Vt.); David S. Lee, managing director, Scudder, Stevens & Clark (Boston); Daniel C. Maclean III, vice president and general counsel, The Dreyfus Corp. (New York); Robert A. Nesher, executive vice president, SEI Financial Services Co. (Wayne, Pa.); Michael J. Perini, first vice president, Merrill Lynch (Plainsboro, N.J.); Don G. Powell, chairman, president and CEO, American Capital Management & Research (Houston); Thomas R. Powers, chairman, president and CEO, Transamerica Fund Management (Houston); and Robert C. Pozen, general counsel and managing director, FMR Corp. (Boston).
 Appointed to serve unexpired terms were: Hal Cogger, president, Colonial Management Associates, Inc. (Boston); Dan J. Hesser, president, INVESCO Funds Group (Denver); Keith Mitchell, president and CEO, Delaware Distributors, Inc. (Philadelphia); and William R. Pearce, president and CEO, IDS Funds (Minneapolis).
