LUKENS STEEL INCREASES PRICES ON CARBON AND HIGH STRENGTH LOW-ALLOY PLATE

 COATESVILLE, Pa., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Lukens Steel Company today announced it will raise the base prices of carbon and high strength low- alloy plate by $10 per ton to a base price of $515 per ton.
 The base price change reflects rising costs of labor, energy and raw materials and is consistent with recently announced competitive price levels. Orders received on or after May 14, 1993, and scheduled for shipment on or after July 4, 1993, will incur the new price.
 Lukens Steel specializes in the production of carbon, alloy and clad plate steel from 3/16 to 30 inches thick. It is the nation's third largest plate steel producer and the largest producer of alloy plates steel in North America.
