 LUKENS ISSUES $150 MILLION OF NOTES
 COATESVILLE, Pa., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Lukens Inc. (NYSE: LUC)


has issued $150 million of notes due August 1, 2004, paying a 7-5/8 percent coupon and priced at 99.487 for a yield of 7.691 percent.
 The First Boston Corporation and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. are acting as co-managers for the offering. The noncallable security is expected to be rated Baa-2 by Moody's Investors Service Inc. and BBB-plus by Standard and Poor's Corp.
