 LUKENS INCREASES PRICES ON CARBON AND ALLOY PLATE STEELS
 COATESVILLE, Pa., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Lukens Steel Company, the nation's third largest plate steel producer, will raise prices by $10 per ton on carbon, high strength low alloy, alloy, and floor plate steels.
 Effective with orders scheduled for shipment on or after Jan. 4, 1993, Lukens Steel will decrease market discounts. Lukens last raised plate prices on May 27, 1992.
 Lukens Steel specializes in the production of carbon, alloy and clad plate steels in thicknesses from 3/16 inch to 30 inches. It is the largest producer of alloy plate steel in North America.
 Lukens Steel is the largest subsidiary of Lukens Inc. (NYSE: LUC), a multi-industry, Fortune 500 company.
