LUFTHANSA LAUNCHES NONSTOP SERVICE TO HAMBURG
AND INCREASES SERVICE FROM MIAMI TO 14 WEEKLY FLIGHTS
MIAMI, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Lufthansa German Airlines will expand its offer between Florida and Germany effective April 2, 1992, with the introduction of twice weekly nonstop flights to Hamburg, Germany's largest port city. Lufthansa's new Hamburg flights will operate in addition to the carrier's existing 11 weekly passenger and one weekly freighter services.
Beginning April 2, Lufthansa's new Miami schedule will include: daily nonstop service to Frankfurt; Thursday and Sunday nonstop service to Hamburg; Monday and Saturday nonstop service to Duesseldorf; Wednesday and Friday nonstop service to Munich; plus a weekly Miami-Frankfurt Boeing 747 Freighter service on Mondays. Lufthansa's Florida passenger flights will operate with widebody Boeing 747 and DC10 aircraft, offering three classes of service: First, Business and Economy.
The new Miami-Hamburg nonstop flights are being launched with a special low introductory fare: A roundtrip ticket for $555 ($599 from Tampa and Orlando) is being offered to passengers flying to Hamburg on Lufthansa's new nonstop service before June 1, 1992. Minimum stay is five days; maximum stay 21 days; reservation, ticketing and payment must be made no later than seven days prior to departure.
Hamburg, Germany's booming northern gateway city, offers travelers convenient access to Northern Germany, the new East German States and the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden thanks to its advantageous geographical location. The port of Hamburg, Germany's largest seaport, has a long tradition as one of Europe's oldest trading centers, acting as gateway city between North/South and East/West.
