LUCAS RECEIVES $6.7 MILLION WORTH OF ORDERS FOR ITS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

 RESTON, Va., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucas has recently been awarded several contracts for its AC and DC electrical systems and units for the helicopter, trainer, business and commuter aircraft markets that total $6.7 million in value. The contracts, which were received by Lucas' Power Equipment business in Aurora, Ohio, include a $2.6 million follow- on contract for DC electrical systems for the AH-1W Cobra and a contract valued at $356,000 for DC electrical systems for the OH-58 Kiowa, both from Bell Helicopter Co., Ft. Worth, Texas.
 The company received a $481,000 contract from CASA of Spain for AC electrical systems for its CN-235 aircraft; a $240,000 contract from Fairchild Aircraft Inc., San Antonio, for DC electrical systems for its Metro 23 aircraft; and a $122,000 contract from Cessna Aircraft Co., Wichita, Kan., for Caravan I generator control units.
 Beech Aircraft Corp. of Wichita has awarded three contracts for DC electrical systems which include a $670,000 follow-on contract for the 19-passenger Model 1900; a $885,000 follow-on order for the King Air; and a $435,000 contract for the Jayhawk and Beechjet aircraft.
 Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. of Stans, Switzerland, placed three production orders for DC electrical systems for its PC-6 trainer. The contracts have a combined value of $861,000.
