LSS Data Systems Incorporates DrFirst(TM) Rcopia e-Prescription Technology into the Medical and Practice Management (MPM) Suite.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- LSS Data Systems and DrFirst, Inc. today announced they are partnering to enable thousands of physicians and other healthcare providers to utilize DrFirst's e-prescribing technology with LSS's Medical and Practice Management (MPM) Suite.

The integration of DrFirst's Rcopia GoldRx[TM] Certified e-prescription technology will provide MPM users true EDI e-prescribing and renewal functionality, real time health plan formulary and plan design information during the prescribing process. Physicians may also request patient medication histories in order to consider a patient's total treatment profile when making new prescribing decisions.

"We are pleased to be able to offer, in conjunction with DrFirst, industry-leading e-prescribing functionality to users of our software," said Stephanie Petersen, LSS President and Chief Operating Officer. "Along with the integration of ambulatory and acute care data from across the enterprise made possible by our close partnership with MEDITECH, our agreement with DrFirst will give providers using the MPM suite access to even fuller patient profiles for medical decision making."

G. Cameron Deemer, President of DrFirst, was similarly enthusiastic. "We are thrilled to be working with LSS to enable thousands of providers to utilize the patient safety benefits and workflow efficiency benefits of e-prescribing," he said. "The EHR market is a phenomenal opportunity to get true EDI e-prescribing into the hands of even more healthcare providers around the nation and we are confident that the partnership will add tremendous value across the healthcare continuum."
