LOWE'S ANNOUNCES WEEKLY SALES

 NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Lowe's (NYSE: LOW) sales for the second week of November totaled $ 95.4 million, a 28 percent increase over the second week of November 1992. Sales to retail customers and contractors increased 28 percent.

 The November 1991 comparable week's sales were $ 38.9 million retail, $ 19.2 million contractor, and $ 58.1 million total. The two- year compound growth rates in weekly sales are: Retail, + 32 percent; Contractor, + 20 percent; and Total, + 28 percent. The November 1991 comparable week's sales were from 308 stores.
 Lowe's monthly sales report series will continue to summarize four- week, four-week, and five-week totals, including comparable store sales results. Lowe's quarterly news releases of sales and earnings will continue to present precise calendar totals.
