LOVELL NAMED DIRECTOR OF DISTRIBUTOR MANAGEMENT FOR DOW NORTH AMERICA

 MIDLAND, Mich., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Patrick S. Lovell, group market manager, Chemicals and Metal, Dow North America, has been named director of Distributor Management, Dow North America. In this role, Lovell will be responsible for managing distributor programs affecting Dow's overall business through the distribution channel. He will continue as a member of the Distributor Council, which coordinates distributor policy as guided by Dow business strategies. He will report to James J. Nichols, vice president, Corporate Accounts and Distributor Affairs, Dow North America, for these responsibilities.
 In addition, Lovell will direct the distributor business for Chemicals and Metals and will supervise the product channel managers, the product representatives and the account development representative assigned to Chemicals and Metals. For these responsibilities, he will report to Ronald E. Taylor, director of Marketing, Chemicals and Metals, Dow North America.
 Lovell joined Dow in 1976 in Manufacturing in Plaquemine, La. In 1979, he transferred to the Marketing Development Program and held a variety of sales and marketing assignments. In 1985, he was named manager of Inquiry and Distribution Services, later becoming manager of the Customer Information Center. In 1988, he was appointed a business research manager in Chemicals & Performance Products. He was named to his most recent position in 1991, adding responsibilities for distribution in 1993.
 Lovell received a bachelor's degree in history from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, La.
