LOSER COULD PAY.

Byline: DAVID ANDERSON

AUDLEY Harrison could lose his pounds 1million purse because he was so bad against David Haye.

Harrison landed just one punch before being stopped in the third round by WBA heavyweight king Haye and the British Boxing Board of Control are investigating his woeful display.

They have the power to stop payment of all or part of Harrison's purse if they decide the 2000 Olympic gold medallist, who was booed by the crowd, did not try.

BBBC secretary Robert Smith said: "Rescinding some or all of Audley Harrisons's purse is certainly something which we will have to sit down and consider, bearing in mind it was such a letdown for the 22,000 people at the MEN Arena and the thousands watching at home.

"It wasn't a great night for boxing, was it. We have rescinded purses in the past on many occasions when we feel a fighter has not tried."
