LORD & TAYLOR UNVEILS 1992 CHRISTMAS WINDOWS: 'LORD & TAYLOR'S PLACE IN THE HISTORY OF NEW YORK' EVENT: Lord & Taylor will unveil its 1992 Christmas windows with this year's theme chronicling the windows of four historic Lord & Taylor storefronts which, in their day, were part of the developing landscape of New York City. DATE: Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1992 TIME: All day -- TV crews and photographers are welcome to shoot animated windows from below street level, before they are raised to the public for the Christmas season. 5:15 p.m. -- Windows raise to ground level Please Note -- Media is welcome to shoot work in progress from Wednesday, Nov. 4 through Nov. 10. LOCATION: 424 Fifth Avenue, between 38th and 39th streets, Manhattan PARKING: Available on the west side of 39th Street and Fifth Avenue. DETAILS: The 1992 Lord & Taylor Christmas windows will feature nearly 90 animated, costumed figures centered around four authentic Lord & Taylor storefronts: Lord & Taylor on Catherine Street, c.1832; Lord & Taylor - Grand at Chrystie Street, 1853-1860; Lord & Taylor - Broadway at Grand Street, 1859-1872; and Lord & Taylor - Broadway and Twentieth Street, c.1878. Lord & Taylor, the oldest specialty store in the country, has been creating beautiful Christmas windows for nearly eight decades. This year's windows will be on display through Jan. 1.
