LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT GIFT? ALAMO INTRODUCES OPEN ROADS GIFT CERTIFICATES JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- What unique gift item is smaller than a breadbasket and makes the lure of the open road more inviting than ever? It's Alamo Rent A Car's "Open Roads" gift certificates.
The new certificates, introduced by the nation's largest independently owned and operated car rental company, provide three different gift-giving options. Open Roads certificates can be purchased for either a specific denomination, number of days or reservation date.
Using the first option, a Cash Value Certificate can be purchased for either $25, $50, $75 or $100. When renting an Alamo car, these certificates can be used just like cash. With the second option, the purchaser receives a Guaranteed Rate Certificate specifying the number of days and type of automobile that may be rented. These certificates are available for daily rentals up to four days and for weekly rentals. The third option enables the purchaser to choose the size car, number of days and actual rental date, making the gift a prepayed Confirmation Certificate.
The idea for the innovative certificates resulted from Alamo's "Bright Ideas" program which rewards employees for new and unique ideas. Alamo Family Member Bing Chen, a rental agent in Boston, first proposed the idea last year. Chen has recently been promoted to supervisor in Alamo's Baltimore Rental Plaza.
For information on receiving Alamo's Open Roads certificates, call 800-327-9633. The gift certificates will be available for U.S. rentals only.
Alamo currently serves over 10 million travelers a year through 111 high-volume locations in the United States, plus 28 international locations in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland and The Netherlands.
